Marion Cotillard -- Why We Hate the French

Oscar bitch Marion Cotillard must think Americans don't know French so she can pretend she didn't say what she said. Well, she said it.

Her Paris-based lawyer, Vincent Toledano, tried spinning his client's comment about 9/11, claiming she was taken out of context.

But we've looked at the original transcript and she did indeed say that Americans destroyed the Twin Towers themselves because they wanted it rebuilt and blowing it up was cheaper than renovation.

Marion -- foie gras you.

UPDATE: Cotillard's rep has released the following statement to TMZ: "On February 16, 2007, I appeared on a late night French television program,'Paris Dernière.' In the last 48 hours, my statements on that program have been taken completely out of context and been crafted into a story that hasn o merit. The conversation on the talk show included a dialogue about
conspiracy theories. At no point did I intend to contest the horrific attacks of September 11, 2001, one of the most tragic days in all of history. Nonetheless, I sincerely regret if my comments offended or hurt anyone."

16. I have always loathed the French! Now I really detest the little short things.......................They hate Americans but, how quick they are to forget how we saved there butts!

We (Americans) should ask for the OSCAR back!

17. Glad we gave the Oscar to her instead of a talented young AMERICAN actress like Ellen Page. Its good to see that as a country we are still so stupid to give credit to foreigners all the time instead of appreciating our own. If we had it my way, we'd get rid of everyone not BORN HERE, and YES I SAID IT!!!!!!!!!

18. Yeah, right. Renovations? And they just neglected to tell those 3000 people to stay home from work that day. Quelle idiot!

21. It's not good to hate anyone. It was a naive mistake. She is not a politician. She is still a gifted artist. Period.
Why is everyone so eager to hate??? Why would you lump all Parisians together for one silly comment? It's childish.

22. It just goes to prove that Hollywood has no credibility when it honor people like this that try to further their own misguided liberal democrat views. Is it a wonder that the French welcome the Muslims with open arms? They are a socialist country that would love to spread their liberal socialism throughout the world. Consider that when you vote for the socialist change of Barack Hussein Obama.

23. Merde! Another "intellectual" Euro-trash celebrity - she's an idiot and where there may have been doubt about that, she has now proved it to the world.

24. Shame on you TMZ!
This was obviously a slow day, so you had to "stir things up a bit" didn't you?
Some people will lap this up, as some of the comments above already show!
Marion Cotillard (like most actors, French, Americans, or whatever) should stick to acting. This was a very stupid comment on her part.
I have just visited several French websites where she is being unanimously criticized for her comment.
That's right, people. Even the French ( these "spineless, ungrateful cowards"), are condemning her attitude. So please, keep things in perspective. Dumb comment by a dumb person. Period. No need to involve the rest of France in this sad debate. As for you TMZ, you should stick to what you do best: Hanging outside The Ivy and interviewing the likes of Paris Hilton...

25. Moonbat! BTW I watched yesterday the movie "The Patriot" with Mel Gibson. There's this French soldier that assists in battle tactics and Mel at first loathed the guy, then turned into mini funny skits and at the end they became friends. That was totally ignorant for her to say and I hope it does not reflect at all on the rest of the French population in a negative way. Guess she caught the "Hollywood Germ".

26. Provide some links to back this up TMZ. Other wise your talking out of your ass.

27. I will never watch any of her movies, because of that statement. But at the same time, I will not hate a whole country of people because of one person's terrible statement. I don't hate this girl, but I will not support anything she does.

Posted at 1:59PM on Mar 3rd 2008 by her statement

28. She is partly right. The US was in on it but not because of renovation costs. It was the US's 21st Century version of Pearl Harbor. Bush's excuse to go to war.

29. It was an inside job, it's obvious if you look at the towers falling it was a controlled demolition.

30. Fendergirl.........................you are truly delusional. You and your wonderful husband (I'm sure) need help!

This garbage that you are spouting is beyond comprehending and any normal and I stress normal human being wouldn't believe a word of it!
