Marion Cotillard -- Why We Hate the French

Oscar bitch Marion Cotillard must think Americans don't know French so she can pretend she didn't say what she said. Well, she said it.

Her Paris-based lawyer, Vincent Toledano, tried spinning his client's comment about 9/11, claiming she was taken out of context.

But we've looked at the original transcript and she did indeed say that Americans destroyed the Twin Towers themselves because they wanted it rebuilt and blowing it up was cheaper than renovation.

Marion -- foie gras you.

UPDATE: Cotillard's rep has released the following statement to TMZ: "On February 16, 2007, I appeared on a late night French television program,'Paris Dernière.' In the last 48 hours, my statements on that program have been taken completely out of context and been crafted into a story that hasn o merit. The conversation on the talk show included a dialogue about
conspiracy theories. At no point did I intend to contest the horrific attacks of September 11, 2001, one of the most tragic days in all of history. Nonetheless, I sincerely regret if my comments offended or hurt anyone."

361. As an added comment, is everyone aware that none of the winners of the best actor/actress awards (supporting and lead) were from this country? Why perpetuate such negativity toward other people or other countries? Just because you're anonymously typing away on your computers doesn't mean you can say such hateful things about people. Shame on all of you!! Find better ways to spend your time.

364. Unless respondents on this message board are fluent in Parisian French, and can translate the video themselves, they are ranting about something that they cannot be assured actually happened. TMZ is only one of the sites continuing to stir up this nonsense, and most of those insulting MarionCotillard here have no firsthand facts about what has been said. They are reading an English translation which couold be fair or shoddy. This YEAR-OLD interview was dragged out at the beginning of March by an anti-French British tabloid, pushed by other Brit tabloids, most of which are owned by Rupert Murdoch. Then it was picked up and spread around by the NEW YORK POST, which is also owned by Murdoch. if you think what she may or may not have said was ridiculous, think how ridiculous you are for going off the deep end about it. Whether or not Cotillard ruminated A YEAR AGO, when none of you ever heard of her, about conspiracy theories she had read, or films she had seen, cannot possibly be so important to you that you take up a baseball bat and try to destroy her. You people have got your heads on backwards. Are you not aware that we're trying to elect a president? Clean up the mess created by the current administration? Are you not worried about the economy? For God's sake, get your priorities straight......this is stupid.

By the way, let me say to some of those jerks screaming around who keep depicting us like swines that, personally, I have a shower every morning, and even twice in the summertime, that I brush my teeth three times a day, and that I change underwears every day too. And, as far as I know, most people in France do the same.
Surrenderring monkeys, some call us? My grand parents were in the french resistance during WWII and my grand Pa had to hide for some time because he was operating as a spy for the british Intelligence Service. Yet, there's never been anti-German feeling in our family. The Nazis were the enemies, not the german people. Which is slightly different. No hard feelings for anyone on this earth. Besides, I have never forgotten that many young men from the U.S. died for us in 1917 and in 1944. Most of the french people know what they owe America. Which does not mean we must agree with the U.S. government when we think it lies dangerously to the American People and to the rest of the world.
As strange as it may seem, and despite our being often insulted by some conserrvative medias in the U.S., , we appreciate Americans much more than they probably can imagine. Don't forget that Franklin D. Roosevelt and J.F. Kennedy have given their names to subway stations in Paris. That's the kind of men we're anxiously waiting for you to elect again.
As a conclusion, I'd like to clear up what Marion Cotillard tried to express in that interview which some american medias have distorted to exploit anti-French feelings. She did not deny the 9/11 attacks but said that, after reading so many things about it on the web, she was wondering : have we been told the truth, the whole truth and nothing but the truth? As far as I'm concerned I have seen airplanes crash on the Twin Towers on french TVs and no doubt on my mind. Those planes were in the hands of islamic fanatics. Perhaps History will prove that I'm wrong but I never thought that Mr. G.W. Bush was responsible for this horror. Is it necessary to remind that the terrorist pilots were from Saudi Arabia and not from Irak? Strangely enough, the Bush administration decided Saddam Hussein was a threat to the U.S. Who could believe such a lie? What a shame... Hussein was a brutal dictator but he had never planned to throw airplanes against New York skyscrapers. But everybody knows this saddest tale now that it's too late. Too bad american soldiers died and keep dying for nothing. Not to mention the thousands of innocent Irakis.
Same thing about moon landings. Miss Cotillard just said that she was wondering : dit it really happen when one can read on the web so many articles pretending it actually never happened? She did not say she didn't believe man went on the moon. Just that doubt was on her mind about many events, Is that a crime? The ones barking after her must be people who never doubt anything, I guess. And who hate the French, that's for sure. God, forgive them, they're too stupid to know what they do.
In 1969, I was sitting in front of my TV and even if someone proves someday that moon landing was a staged act (which I doubt) all I can say is that I couldn't believe my eyes. Neil Armstrong, Louis Armstrong, Lance Armstrong. Three great Americans.
Allez les gars! Apprenez le français. J'ai bien fait l'effort d'apprendre votre langue. Le jour où vous parlerez notre langue vous penserez un peu moins comme des idiots. Surtout vous serez un peu moins facilement influençables.

I'm sure she did a wonderful job in the "correct languge" for this movie ... but (no offense - why the hell did she win the AMERICAN ACADEMY AWARD???????????????????????????). I felt like I had to take a course to understand.

371. I'm french, I live in northern France and I can tell you that Marion Cotillard is a victim of a bad joke!
The images were broadcast in Europe and here, everybody knows that this is the second degree!
So I am horrified by what I have read in your comments!
France was very shocked following the attacks on the World Trade Center ; we cried just like you!! Marion cried just like you seeing images of the disaster on television!!
Marion is a wonderful actress and she doesn't deserve this wickedness free and totally unjustified!!!
France loves America, Marion loves Americans!!!
