Marion Cotillard -- Why We Hate the French

Oscar bitch Marion Cotillard must think Americans don't know French so she can pretend she didn't say what she said. Well, she said it.

Her Paris-based lawyer, Vincent Toledano, tried spinning his client's comment about 9/11, claiming she was taken out of context.

But we've looked at the original transcript and she did indeed say that Americans destroyed the Twin Towers themselves because they wanted it rebuilt and blowing it up was cheaper than renovation.

Marion -- foie gras you.

UPDATE: Cotillard's rep has released the following statement to TMZ: "On February 16, 2007, I appeared on a late night French television program,'Paris Dernière.' In the last 48 hours, my statements on that program have been taken completely out of context and been crafted into a story that hasn o merit. The conversation on the talk show included a dialogue about
conspiracy theories. At no point did I intend to contest the horrific attacks of September 11, 2001, one of the most tragic days in all of history. Nonetheless, I sincerely regret if my comments offended or hurt anyone."

61. Too bad, I was interested in seeing what else she would do after seeing her as Edith Piaf. I don't mind anyone's opinion, but I also don't have to watch her any longer. We both have our choice.

63. 19. Glad we gave the Oscar to her instead of a talented young AMERICAN actress like Ellen Page. Its good to see that as a country we are still so stupid to give credit to foreigners all the time instead of appreciating our own. All of these comments to take back Marion's oscar are as stupid as the one Natalie Cole made about Amy Winhouse winning the Grammys being a bad idea. She won the award for her perfomance in that movie, (which most of you probably haven't even seen) not for her political views! Whether or not I agree with what she said, she literally turned herself into Edith Piaf (who most of you probably don't know either!) in the same way that Jamie Foxx literally embodied Ray Charles to the point that you forget you are watching an actor/actress and not the real person!

67. This should not be a suprise. Most poeple born outside of America, hates the American government and thinks that we are shady and racist. Based on how we deal with other countries (in a crooked fashion) they have every reason to believe our government is crooked with its people. I mean c'mon, the Bush admin proves it everyday. Marion got the Oscar because she delivered an amazing PERFORMANCE, not her political views! She literally tranformed herself into Edith Piaf (wondering how many ppl here even know who she is...) in the same way that Jamie Foxx became Ray Charles! They won because they made you forget that you were watching an actor/actress and not the real person!
